Age verification

 

For adult rated content such as 18 movies or explicit lyric songs you will need to verify the purchaser is over 18. This can be done by using a pre-authorisation check from SECPay. In most instances we won’t charge for this if the final transaction is completed using our services.

 

Single transaction page

 

It might sound minor but it makes a big difference in keeping customers and not losing purchases part way through. The SECPay payment gateway is a single continuous transaction (single page) that can be formatted to look and feel like your website. Once the transaction is completed, purchasers are returned to your website as well as remaining in your website if they click the back button half way through the checkout process, this is critical in not losing sales half way through. Nearly all of our competitors use multiple payment pages where this does not occur.

 

Low value transactions

 

With MP3 tracks having a low unit cost, it can be challenging to cover the cost of the payment transaction and credit or debit card charges and still make a profit from the sale. Most MP3 portals have overcome this by using a combination of user registration, pre-authorisation and transaction batching or polling. In essence, rather than processing a single purchase for 79p, they wait until the customer has made several purchases, and then process a single transaction for the total amount.
