Overview
SECBatch is a secure, real time, online credit and debit card transaction *authorisation and clearance program using the SECCard service in a batch processing environment. During execution, it requires access to the World Wide Web. It provides an easy to use payment mechanism for merchants selling goods or services.
*Authorisation and processing is performed by the acquiring bank and is not a guarantee of payment.
Why use SECBatch?
SECBatch uses the cost-effective gateway which allows you to securely process your offline transactions or repeat subscriptions. The security and privacy of all card details are maintained by our high levels of encryption, and the transactions authorised within seconds. All transactions are cleared through to your acquiring bank at the end of each day.
Which cards are accepted?
SECPay will deal with all Visa and Mastercard credit cards and their derivatives, Switch, Delta, Solo and JCB through the acquiring bank. We also support American Express and Diners Club, though you will require a separate merchant facility with American Express and Diners Club.
What does it cost?
Use of SECBatch is included as part of the SECCard Service. There are no additional charges for use of SECBatch. You must subscribe to the SECCard service in order to use SECBatch. Use of SECCard has two standard tariffs, both of which involve a set up fee of £50.00, and a monthly standing charge of £10.00. All processed transactions will be billed to you according to your choice of contract monthly in arrears. These charges are either 1.9% of the total transaction value, or £0.39p for each transaction. You must inform us when setting up your account which transaction tariff you wish to pay. Our invoicing terms are strictly 7 days Net.
How does it work?
SECPay simply provides with a program for you to execute. The program will take either a file of transactions and process each in turn, or you can pass the parameters on the command line. SECBatch uses a secure link from your computer to our secure payment server using the Internet. SECPay first checks card number format, expiry date and the issue date/start date, then securely carries-out authorisation through a connection with the acquiring banks. Authorised transactions are cleared overnight to your acquiring bank, normally reaching you bank account within 48-72 hours.
You may wish to develop your own program which includes the interface us and your processing system. To assist with this SECPay provide the components required to link in the SECBatch processing module. When a payment is processed, a message is returned to SECBatch indicating success or failuure. For detailed instructions on linking to our system, and to download the excutables and libraries, please go to the API-Howto.
